Tidbits

I've been home with a cold the last couple of days and have been doing a bit of web surfing. I never cease to be amazed at what one can find on the Internet.

Three Gorges Dam update from The Peking Duck.
Beautiful and tragic pictures of the countryside and the dam project. The account of the history of the dam gives insight to Chinese culture.

From Last One Speaks:
Decrim works in the UK. According to the BBC:
Arrests for possession of cannabis fell by a third in the first year since it was downgraded to a Class C drug, official Home Office figures show.

An estimated 199,000 police hours were saved, according to data from 26 of the 42 English and Welsh police forces.

And while checking out the BBC site, I also learned about the grandmother in England who cooks treats using cannabis and has written a book about her activities which she aims to get published.

And here's something I never expected to see.....a Japanese "Adult English" textbook from the 1980s. I can't describe it, you have to see for yourself.
