Update

I haven't finished blogging last week end yet and here is another one already.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of last week were memorable. Thursday night there was a reception at the Museum for the poster artists in town for Flatstock. Good food and beverages. Miles donated bricks of his wonderful Miles of Chocolate "baked chocolate dessert". As if wasn't already good enough (one person described it as "better than cocaine") we smeared some cherry & blueberry jam on the top, then covered it with fresh raspberries and blackberries.

The Museum was packed with artists, mostly younger, from all over the country. Also in attendance were Jim Franklin, Nels Jacobson, Micael Priest, Jaxon, and other noted Austin artists.

Friday night, it was more of the same, this time a public reception for Roky's collection. Some of the original members of the 13th Floor Elevators performed. Roky came but didn't sing, his brother Sumner did. Staff from the Texas Historical Society were there videotapping the activities and recording oral histories from people who were around back in the day.

Saturday, I helped Leea at the Museum booth at Flatstock from about 1:30-6:00 and then went to the High Times party. I got there in time to catch the entire set of the Asylum Street Spankers.

I'd planned to rest on Sunday, but ended up visiting with five different groups of friends during the day.

After all that, it's been hard to go back to "normal" (whatever that is).
