I'm back
The trip was relatively uneventful. I picked up my daughter from the airport in LA and we went to visit my parents and her paternal grandmother for a couple of days. Then to East Texas to spend some time with my older son and his family for a couple of days. Then back here to Austin, where we had a little "girl party" Tuesday evening to introduce her to my group of "best friends". My daughter fixed all the party food and decorated the cottage, she did an excellent job and I'm so proud of her. The party was a huge success. Wednesday night my #2 son and his band had a gig down in the Red River district and his sister went to watch him play. She left yesterday and I already miss her.
But tomorrow is Eeyore's Birthday Party....the quintessential Austin party. So there's no time to sit around and be sad.
On a different subject, I received my CWA News (Communications Workers of America) newspaper yesterday and found this statement in the president's column:

The last time that Republicans controlled the White House and Congress with a Senate majority as high as today's 55 members was 1929. Calvin Coolidge was president and corporate America ran roughshod with little to mitigate its hubris. Anyone who ever took a high school history course knows how that worked out.
