Chili Cold Blood

I rode the No. 1 down to South Congress this evening for 1st Thursday. One of my favorite Austin bands was playing at Jo's. Chili Cold Blood was wailing with their own brand of "Black & Blues Cowboy Metal". From their website:

Chili Cold Blood's music evolved from the dark blues of John Lee Hooker and R.L. Burnside, mixed with their love of Black Sabbath (and a bit of southern rock). They achieve their raw sound by the unique instrumentation of pedal steel guitar, electric guitar, drums, and overdriven vocals, with the guitar and steel trading lead and bass duties. Chili D and C.B. found a musical kinship playing together in different bands around Austin, and realized their mutual admiration for "music with balls".
