Raising hell for Molly

In her last column, Molly Ivins wrote:
"We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war.

Raise hell. Think of something to make the ridiculous look ridiculous. Make our troops know we're for them and are trying to get them out of there. Hit the streets to protest Bush's proposed surge.

We need people in the streets, banging pots and pans and demanding, "Stop it, now!
So some friends and I did just that. Here's a picture of us marching to Schotz's Garden, where people were gathering at a post church service memorial party. We got a great response from the crowd when we came marchin' in. Fox News has a video on their site that shows us for about a half a second.

Long ago when I lived behind the Pine Curtain in Near Walmartland Molly's columns in the local paper gave me a daily dose of sanity. A neighbor there had been her high school English teacher and he had such stories to tell about her! Listening to him back then I never dreamed that in the future I'd go to parties at her house.

Her passing has left a huge hole that none of the rest of us can fill. She will continue to be an inspiration and rold model for thousands of us.
