Lykos and HB 2391

It relates closely to HB 2391 (80th leg), the cite and release bill, which is being utilized currently in only Travis county, and to a certain extent, in Palo Pinto and Corsicana counties. In Harris county, I have been working extensively with Victor Trevino, Precinct 6 Constable. Constable Trevino is very emphatic about this bill as being a law enforcement officer he realizes the potential for reducing recidivism and overcrowding in prisons. He was actually interviewed for this article, but his statements were not used.

Now, it's up to us to let Pat Lykos know she has an alternative.

Let Lykos know you support her stance of not "being soft on crime", but being soft on wasting taxpayer money. HB 2391 cannot be used by police officers in Harris Co. or any county until the District Attorney approves this measure. Please contact her office and let her know that you support this bill. Or, please contact me if you need more information.. Currently, there are lobbyists working to implement the bill in Dallas Co, and lobbyists working to fully enforce it in Travis Co.
